About the class
The warrior is Azeroth's armored front-line fighter: he holds the line, hits hard and masters every weapon.
History & role
Warriors form the battle line of every army in Azeroth. They fight without sorcery, relying on steel, discipline and fury, and stand where a battle is decided.
Their craft has been handed down through generations. Every people has trainers who teach recruits weapons, armor and shifting combat postures.
Soldier, gladiator or mercenary: what unites warriors is the rage of battle. They turn damage taken and blows dealt into raw strength.
What sets the class apart
Stances
There are three stances: Battle, Defensive and Berserker. Some abilities only work in a specific stance.
Switching costs rage
Without a talent, all rage is lost when switching. The Tactical Mastery talent in the Arms tree preserves part of it.
Charge and Intercept
Charge (Battle Stance) generates rage and briefly stuns the target, Intercept (Berserker Stance) stuns it as well. This is how the warrior closes gaps.
Tank toolkit
Taunt, Shield Block and Shield Wall are available only in Defensive Stance, which makes it mandatory for tanking.
Class quests & milestones
Defensive Stance
From level 10, a quest from your warrior trainer unlocks Defensive Stance.
Berserker Stance
From level 30, a quest chain from your warrior trainer unlocks Berserker Stance.
These details describe the class in WoW Classic. They can differ in Forever; the talent editor and abilities are authoritative.
