About the class
The paladin is Azeroth's holy knight: armored, blessed by the Light and protector of his allies.
History & role
Paladins are knights who join martial skill with the power of the Light. They heal allies, protect the weak and stand against the undead and demons.
The Order of the Silver Hand arose in the Second War under Archbishop Alonsus Faol, who taught virtuous knights the magic of the Light. Uther the Lightbringer led them.
In the Third War the order was thrown into crisis when Uther refused to slay the plague-struck people of Stratholme and Arthas dismissed the paladins from service. The ideal of serving others through the Light lives on in paladins.
What sets the class apart
Seals and Judgement
Seals are timed self-buffs (30 seconds) that improve melee strikes. Judgement releases the effect of the active seal onto the target.
Auras
Auras passively affect all party members in range, such as Devotion Aura or Retribution Aura. Each paladin has one active at a time.
Blessings
Blessings are buffs cast on individual allies, such as Blessing of Protection or Blessing of Wisdom.
Mount spell
Paladins summon their warhorse with a spell instead of buying a mount. The spell is earned through a quest from level 40.
Class quests & milestones
Redemption
A quest around level 12 grants the resurrection spell Redemption.
Warhorse
From level 40, a quest grants Summon Warhorse.
Charger
From level 60, a long quest chain requiring Dire Maul West, Scholomance and Stratholme leads to Summon Charger.
These details describe the class in WoW Classic. They can differ in Forever; the talent editor and abilities are authoritative.
