Healers and protectors of the party who mend, shield and fight with Light or Shadow.

History & role

Priests mediate between mortals and higher powers. They mend wounds, turn aside harm and stand by those who fight when things look hopeless.

The tradition of the Church of the Holy Light reaches far back in Lordaeron and shapes the image of the priest as servant of the Light. There are also priests who make use of Shadow magic.

What sets the class apart

  • Shields and weakness

    Power Word: Shield absorbs damage, but cannot be recast on the same target until the Weakened Soul debuff wears off.

  • Wands

    A wand deals damage without spending mana. It is an important part of the rotation while questing.

  • Shadow and healing combined

    Shadowform, a talent from level 40, boosts your Shadow damage, but in that form you cannot cast Holy spells.

  • Racial spells

    Depending on race, priests get their own spells, for example dwarves Fear Ward, humans Desperate Prayer, night elves Elune's Grace, trolls Hex of Weakness, undead Devouring Plague.
