About the class

Shadowy lone operatives who strike from stealth and rely on poison, speed and precision.

History & role

Rogues work where open battle is no use: as spies, assassins, pickpockets and highway robbers. They are not an army but a blade in the dark, which is exactly why many employers value them.

Rogues gather in groups that operate out of sight. On the Alliance side that includes the intelligence service SI:7, based in Stormwind.

What sets the class apart

  • Stealth

In stealth you move slower but stay nearly invisible. From there you open fights with powerful strikes.

  • Combo points

Certain attacks gather combo points on the target, up to five. Finishers like Eviscerate get stronger with more points.

  • Poisons

From level 20 you coat your weapons with poisons for extra damage, slows or wound effects. You craft them yourself.

  • Control and escape

Vanish, Sprint and Blind get you away from enemies. Stuns such as Cheap Shot and interrupts such as Kick add control.

Class quests & milestones

  • Poison quest

From level 20 a class quest unlocks poisons. It requires Lockpicking skill of at least 70. In Stormwind it starts with Mathias Shaw.

These details describe the class in WoW Classic. They can differ in Forever; the talent editor and abilities are authoritative.
