Even before the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony, observant players noticed Xbox controllers at every station of the Warcraft demo floor. Later that day Blizzard officially announced that Forever will launch with full controller support.
The dungeon demo was not available with a controller, but attendees could test the level 1 to 10 Skyborne experience with a gamepad.
According to the source, this is the first time Blizzard has built a World of Warcraft game with controller support in mind from the start. Whether it signals a philosophy for the future of the series remains an open question.
