General
Blizzard added further Warrior changes to the 1 October beta build. The additional Rage from critical strikes rises to 100% (was 75%). A bug that made Dual Wield Specialization grant its hit chance to both weapons has also been fixed. Because of that bug the tests needed correcting, which is why Fury received another pass.
Aidan Moon had already commented on the dual wield Rage bug: a bug skewed the tests and will be corrected. According to Moon, players can expect +100% on crits and +50% off-hand Rage from the talent.
Fury
According to the developers, the goal is to give Fury more utility and meaningful choices early in the tree and to free up points later. Key changes:
- Booming Voice increases the area of effect of your Shouts by 10/20/30/40/50% and lowers their Rage cost by 5/10/15/20/25%.
- New: Lingering Rage (row 2) delays the Rage decay after combat by 2/4/6/8/10 seconds.
- New: Furious Precision (row 3) raises your off-hand hit chance by 4/7/10%.
- New: Gore Drinker (row 6, requires Enrage) restores 0.5/1% of your maximum health over your next 3 melee attacks after certain abilities.
- Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage are removed.
- Raging Blow lowers the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3, and Whirlwind always strikes with both weapons.
- Flurry now requires Death Wish instead of Enrage.
- Berserker Rage is available at level 30 (was 32) and Bloodthirst scales with 45% of attack power (was 35%).
Protection
The Protection tree has been reworked as well. Warriors without a shield should get a clear path to the middle of the tree so that Protection can serve as a PvP tech secondary specialisation. Several talents move by one row for that: Improved Bloodrage, Improved Revenge, Improved Disarm, Improved Shield Bash and Anticipation. Toughness is removed.
