Ruins of Lordaeron in WoW: Forever: Quests, Bosses and Rewards
- 2 min read

The dungeon at a glance
Ruins of Lordaeron is one of the new dungeons you are likely to meet early in WoW: Forever. It is built for levels 16 to 23 and sits above the Undercity, immediately to the left once you enter Lordaeron. The Beta already shows plenty about loot, experience and bosses.
Pros
- 4-6 quests granting 4,900-9,700 experience each
- 6 bosses with fairly good drops, the final boss is level 20
- Non-linear dungeon with secrets
Cons
- One boss is currently bugged on the Beta and can sometimes fail to spawn
- Secrets are easy to miss, and experience nerfs may discourage a second run

Quests
Horde has 6 quests, Alliance has 4. Horde players pick up 4 outside and 2 inside the dungeon: two in the Undercity (the Apothecary area and Sylvanas's chamber), one at the caravan between Brill and the Undercity, and one at the Sepulcher in Silverpine Forest. Alliance players find all of theirs inside from Captain Truman, an Alliance-friendly NPC who is hostile to the Horde.
The quests show as red even at level 17, but the dungeon is very clearable at that level. Quest experience ranges from 3,500 to 9,750.
Notable quest rewards
| Type | Note |
|---|---|
One-hand mace | Horde only |
Staff | Undercity quest |
Ring | From an Alliance or an in-dungeon Horde quest |
Necklace | Alliance only |

The six bosses
The bosses can be done in any order.
- Witherfang (Beast): Easy. His only real mechanic is not pulling him with other trash packs, so clear the trash on his path first.
- The Baron (Undead): Can kill your tank fast with his powerful Knock Away. Stun him as much as you can and keep the tank at full health.
- Viktor the Vile (Beast): Can bug. You fight 5 waves of adds before him and he hits hard, so let the tank grab aggro.
- The Abandoned (Undead): Appears after 3 waves of adds in Market Street. He has Frost Nova and Chill, but the key ability is Drain Life. Keep the tank up and stun him before the cast finishes to prevent it entirely.
- Bjork (Undead): Only a very short Anti-Magic Shell cast. Very easy.
- Rath'mael (Undead): Casts Flamestrike on the ground, so you just move after the cast.
Viktor the Vile is easy to miss, as his encounter starts when you click the "Kindled Flame" after clearing the add waves. On the Beta he appears to have a bug where he may not spawn.

Trash
The trash is weaker than in Hall of Thanes, but the high mob density makes it easy to pull several packs by accident. Without crowd control, especially at a lower level, some packs can be tough. Paladins will have a great time here at level 20 once they get a certain spell.
