New in-game warning

Blizzard will soon add a warning to the game that appears whenever you trade with strangers. It is meant to curb Real Money Transactions (RMT), the purchase of in-game gold for real money. The warning reads:

Be wary of accepting gold from unknown or suspicious sources. If the provider is engaged in Real Money Transactions, you could put your account at risk of closure.

What has happened so far

Since the previous note on the subject, Blizzard has kept taking action against accounts found botting to amass gold in the Forever beta, as well as accounts that bought or knowingly received illicit gold. That will continue in the beta and in the live game after launch.

Blizzard's stance is clear: anyone who generates, sells, buys or receives illicit gold is subject to gold removal, suspensions or permanent account closure. Blizzard also thanks players for their feedback.
